Everyone knows that swimming is good for health, but they are in no hurry to visit the pools, explaining their reluctance for various reasons, sometimes completely implausible. Let's try to determine how some of them correspond to reality.

It is easy to catch cold after the pool, especially in winter. You can catch a cold simply by being in a draft for some time or by gorging yourself on ice cream to the dump. In order for swimming in the pool to have the most beneficial effect on your body, you should not immediately, hastily dry off and dress, run out into the street (especially on frosty days), but sit for a while in the hall or in a cafe (if there is one). Only when you are completely warm can you go outside.

Wet hair can cause migraines, neuritis, and even meningitis. Misconception. Unpleasant sensations can arise only for those who do not put on hats when bathing, and then do not dry their hair. If you used both a hat and a hairdryer, everything will be in order.

Chlorinated pool water is harmful to the eyes and skin. Of course, the water in the pool is treated in various ways - with ultraviolet light, ozonation, chlorination. The toughest is chlorinated, which can really cause discomfort if you have dry, sensitive or allergy-prone skin. However, other external influences also dry out the skin - soap, dry air in the room where the air conditioner or heater is operating. Therefore, you will have to take care of the skin in any case. There are a lot of body creams, choosing one of them, you will significantly improve the condition of your skin, moisturizing and nourishing it both after taking a regular bath and after visiting the pool.

Ozonated water is not as harmful to the skin as chlorinated water. Unfortunately, this is not entirely true. The effect of ozone on the skin is more gentle, however, like chlorine, it helps to "loosen" the skin and dries it out.

It is easy to pick up fungus or warts in the pool. This danger exists not only in the pool, but, for example, on the beach. In order to protect your body as much as possible, you need, firstly, to choose a pool where all visitors are required to have a health certificate, and secondly, to approach the water itself in slippers.

In the pool, you can get infected with sexually transmitted diseases. This is not true. Any urogenital infections are not transmitted either through water (they simply die in chlorinated and ozonized water), or by contact with various surfaces in the pool.

If you are no longer young, and you have not learned to swim, you have nothing to do in the pool. It should be remembered that in all pools there is a health group, where a coach is involved with people who cannot swim. And age is not a hindrance in this matter - it is never too late to acquire useful skills.

If you forgot a towel, that's okay - they will give you in the pool. Indeed, this kind of service is provided, but it should be remembered that the towels offered in the pool can be washed without the use of disinfectants. As a result, there is a risk of contracting a fungal infection. Therefore, it is still advisable to take your towel from home.

After swimming in the pool, you can skip the shower. Shower should be taken both before and after bathing, and right after swimming it is best to rinse with an antifungal gel, especially thoroughly rinsing the skin folds of the interdigital spaces.

I will do a manicure and go to the pool. You should really apply nail polish before visiting the pool. But if you have done a manicure or pedicure, it is better to refrain from visiting the pool (at least on the same day).
