Every 10-15 years, the number of sick people doubles, largely due to the number of poor countries. Thus, the problem becomes medical and social. There are several types of diabetes, the most common are the first and second types.

Diabetes mellitus can spread from one person to another. Fortunately, diabetes is not spread through the air like colds, or through food. However, care should be taken - after all, this is a source of easily digestible carbohydrates, so the amount of sweets should not exceed the permissible norms of a balanced diet. It is also advisable to correlate the intake of such food with physical activity. For the prevention of diabetes, it is important not to simply restrict sweets, but to exercise regularly, eat properly and control your own weight.

Patients with diabetes should eat special foods. The rules for compiling a food ration for every day for a sick person are no different from the usual rules. Fat should be limited, especially fats that are structurally modified during cooking, such as frying, should be wary of. It is necessary to limit the intake of salt and sugar, to provide a sufficient amount of fruits, vegetables, vitamins, and solid cereals that will provide fiber. The experience of international studies has shown that a diet based on special products with glucose substitutes does not give the expected effect. After consuming such products, the level of glucose in the blood still rises, moreover, the products themselves are much more expensive, and the sorbitol (sugar substitute) included in them also has a laxative effect.

A person with diabetes should avoid starchy foods such as potatoes, pasta and baked goods. Do not limit the consumption of foods containing starch! After all, such food is a source of not only carbohydrates, but also vitamins and dietary fiber, which are required by the body for normal life. The main thing is to control the volume and quantity of such products. For most diabetics, it is quite acceptable to take 3-4 meals rich in starch during the week.

But with acute colds in diabetics, glucose levels can rise significantly, which can, in turn, lead to the development of ketoacidosis. This is especially critical for patients with type 1 diabetes.

Scientists at the moment cannot clinically confirm the role of insulin in the development of atherosclerosis or increased blood pressure. Studies have shown that the effective blood glucose levels of diabetics far outweigh the potential hassles of gaining weight in terms of their benefits. Patients with diabetes mellitus can eat fruit in unlimited quantities. Fruits are really healthy as they contain a lot of minerals, fiber and vitamins. But some of them are very high in sugars and, if consumed frequently, can cause significant increases in blood glucose levels. If the level of glycohemoglobin (A1C) exceeds 8%, the treatment regimen should be changed. The possibility of complications in diabetes is directly related to the control of blood glucose levels. Where does sugar come from, you ask? The fact is that when food is consumed, it is converted into a substance like sugar, but this is not at all the product that we eat or with tea. With sports and proper nutrition, sugar and sweets can be eaten. However, it is always necessary to maintain a measure, maintaining the right balance of carbohydrates, proteins and fats that enter the body throughout the day.

With diabetes, you immediately feel unwell. On the contrary, many patients are not even aware of their illness. But there is a danger in this - after all, if the disease is not treated, then the blood vessels and other organs will undergo destruction. Even if, when a disappointing diagnosis is made, the state of health is normal, it is still necessary to undergo a course of treatment. After all, the harm from diabetes may not appear immediately, but after several years. The consequences of the disease can affect the heart, nerve cells, it will be difficult to correct the situation. So you should trust your doctor and listen to his treatment guidelines.

Mild diabetes is possible. Many patients, focusing on their health, believe that their form of diabetes is mild. In fact, diabetes is never mild. Sometimes there is no need to inject insulin and take medications, but the disease must still be kept under observation.

With diabetes, you should not play sports, as this can lead to complications. There are no sports bans for diabetics. On the contrary, doctors even encourage an active life. Regular exercise will help contain the development of the disease, while the body will be able to absorb insulin more efficiently. Naturally, individual deviations are possible, so it is still better to consult a doctor.

If the blood glucose level is less than 8%, then the course of treatment should not be changed. Any treatment aims to stabilize blood glucose at a normal level of about 7%. Therefore, approaching this indicator minimizes the risk of complications, which include eye diseases, damage to nerve cells. It is worth choosing a treatment that will give the result as close as possible to the desired one.

If there were no diabetics in my family, then nothing threatens me either. It happens that people are born already predisposed to diabetes. However, more often a person suffers this disease, although none of his relatives had it. The development of diabetes can be greatly influenced by a person's weight and lifestyle.
